CISBM Research Bootcamp

Six days of intensive research, collaboration, and experience sharing
The CISBM Research Bootcamp brings together students, emerging researchers, and senior scientists for an intensive six-day experience focused on scientific collaboration and research development.
Participants work together across different levels of experience to develop research ideas, analyze scientific literature, design studies, and write multiple research papers and collaborative projects. Senior researchers contribute their expertise and mentorship, while students and early-career researchers bring fresh perspectives, new ideas, and complementary skills.
The Bootcamp is designed around active collaboration rather than passive learning. Participants work in teams, exchange research experiences, discuss challenges encountered in real projects, and learn directly from researchers who have experience taking scientific ideas from conception to publication.
What happens during the six days?
Collaborative paper writing and development of multiple manuscripts
Research idea generation and project development
Mentorship from senior researchers
Scientific discussion and peer feedback
Experience sharing between students, early-career researchers, and established researchers
Literature analysis and critical appraisal
Research methodology and study design
Data analysis and interpretation
Interdisciplinary collaboration across immunogenetics and systems biomedicine
Team-based research projects with opportunities for continued collaboration after the Bootcamp
A community built around research
The Bootcamp is more than a short course. It is an opportunity to meet researchers, build collaborative relationships, exchange experiences, and create research that continues beyond the six-day programme.
By bringing students and senior researchers into the same collaborative environment, CISBM aims to create a culture in which knowledge and experience are shared openly and research opportunities are developed collectively.
Six days. Multiple projects. One research community.
Participants leave the Bootcamp not only with new knowledge and research experience, but with new collaborators, practical research skills, and the foundations of projects that can continue long after the six days are over.
